The weight of an object in a satellite orbiting around the earth is zero-why?

The satellite will fly off into space in a direction which was tangential to its original direction of motion. This is because the direction of velocity of an object moving in a circular path is always tangential at every point along the path.

Weightlessness is a condition when your body is in free fall and the acceleration is downward at gravity. This condition can be defined by the term zero gravity. So weightlessness occurs when there is zero support of force on our body.
