the weight of an object is 5N. At a certain instant its momentum is 6kgms-1. Due to a force applied in the direction opposite to the direction of motion the velocity is of the object decreased to 4ms-1 during 4s. what is the force exerted on the object?

weight = mg
so here weight is given as 5N
so mass =5/g =5/10= 0.5kg
now momentum is given as
6kgms^-1
p=m×v
so, 6=0.5×v
so v=12m/s
now acc to equation of motion v=u+at
so time=4s
v=4m/s
u=12m/s
so a=(4-12)/4
a=-8/4
a=-2m/s^2
-ve tell about the opposite direction.
now force = ma
so F=0.5×-2
F=-1N
in opposite direction
