Answer :-

We know that,

Weight = Mass × Acceleration due to gravity

a)

Calculating mass on earth :-

Substituting the values :-

➩ 200 = Mass × 10

➩ Mass = 200/10

➩ Mass = 20

Mass on earth = 20 kg

Calculating mass on other planet :-

We know that,

Mass remains constant i.e. mass does not vary from place to place. So,

Mass on other planet = 20 kg

b) We have -

  • Weight on other planet = 20 N
  • Mass on that planet = 20 kg

Substituting the values -

Weight = Mass × Acceleration due to gravity

➩ 20 = 20g

➩ g = 20/20

➩ g = 1 m/s²

Acceleration due to gravity on the planet = 1 m/s²
