The weights (in kg) of 11 students of Class-VII (in April 2015) is:
42, 52, 48, 52, 55, 58, 53, 54, 46, 49, 57
Find the median of these weights.
In July 2015, one student of weight 58 kg, left the school and a new student of weight
68 kg joined the class. Find the new median.​

Answer:

Median = 42, 46, 48, 49, 52, 52, 53, 54, 55, 57, 58

Take middle number..

That is first median

2nd median = 42, 46, 48, 49, 52, 52, 53, 54, 55, 57, 58, 68

since it is even number..

take mean of middle two numbers

=\frac{52+53}{2}

=\frac{105}{2}

=52.5

This second/ new median.
