The Westerlies in the Southern Hemisphere blow with greater force than those in the Northern Hemisphere. Answer: In the Southern Hemisphere there is open ocean for free movement along the belt of Westerlies. These blow with roaring sound and great speed along 40°S

Answer: because of the absence of landmass in the southern hemisphere..

Explanation:in the northern hemisphere..there is excess of landmasses compared to the southern hemisphere thus the northern landmasses obstruct the westerlies and cause disturbances such as change in the direction of the winds and the rate of speed of the winds(decreases)

Whereas in the southern hemisphere there is no such obstruction..thus it blows faster with more force

Funfact: the westerlies in the northern hemisphere blow from south-west to the north-east direction and in the southern hemisphere from north-west to the south-east direction
