Western coastal plains of India is in the windward region getting southern western monsoon winds.

It brings orographic rainfall to the plains.

These winds are descending on the slopes of the different mountains which goes towards on the leeward sides.

Hence this leaves no sides with no humidity in them.

Less amount of moisture sometimes brings fewer rains.

So west parts receive more rain.
