When they reach Rajasthan, they are almost dry. There is no mountain high enough to check the flow of the Arabian Sea branch of monsoon winds.

(1) After moving from Gujarat and Sind delta moisture content of the Arabian sea branch of Monsoon is decreased when it comes towards the Rajasthan so Thar desert remains dry.

(2) Sandy soil of desert region creates a situation of temperature inversion so monsoon winds cannot enter in this area.

(3) Aravali mountains are parallel to these winds.
