Answer:
(iii) The direction of the Aravalli mountains is parallel to the direction of Arabian Sea winds. Hence, these winds cross over Rajasthan without giving rainfall. (iv) The intense heat of western Rajasthan desert does not allow the condensation of moisture to take place and hence no rain is there.

Required Answer:-
The reasons why the western part of Rajasthan remains almost dry during the southwest monsoon season are as follows:
- In these months, the monsoon winds come from the eastern part and drain their mositure along their way. Hence, they are almost dry after reaching Rajasthan.
- The winds flowing from the Arabian sea is not yet checked by high mountains because the mountains in Aravalli ranges are not so high.
- In reference to above point, the ranges are nearly parallel to the winds from Arabian sea. Hence there is no rainfall.
- Also the hot air winds doesn't allow them to condense and precipitate there. Those winds are very hot and dry
