SOLUTION :

The diameter of wheel of bullock cart = 1.4 m   (given)

To be found :-

The number of rotations (revolutions) of the wheel of the bullock cart will travel 1.1 km

radius of the wheel = diameter ÷ 2

radius of the wheel = 1.4 ÷ 2 = 0.7 m

One revolution = one circumference of the wheel

The circumference of the wheel = 2πr units

[ ∴ In which r is the radius of the wheel ]

= \bf 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 0.7 m

= 4.4 m

So,

the wheel travels 1.1 km

= 1.1 × 1000 = 1100 m

[ ∴ 1 km = 1000 m, to convert km to m we have to multiply 1000 to the given km ]

So,

One revolution = 4.4 m

Number of revolutions for 1100 m will be

= \bf \frac{1100}{4.4}

= 250 revolutions

Hence,

The wheel of the bullock cart will take 250 rotations
