The moral of this story is that god helps only those people who help themselves in difficult situation. In this story, in a rainy season, Carter was riding his bullock cart on a muddy road.
Suddenly one wheel of his bullock cart sank into the deep mud. He tried hard to pull his cart from mud but he failed. At last he sat along the side of road and prayed god to help.
God appeared and said to put his shoulder to the one wheel and try yourself. After that god disappeared and he did what god said to do.
