The white jaggery sometimes is salty to taste. Why?

Because sodium bisulphate is used in the manufacture of jaggery here sulphate liberates in the form of sulphur dioxide but the sodium salt remain constant . this is the reason why white jaggery is sometimes salty to taste.

The white jaggery is sometimes salty to taste. It is due to the presence of sodium salts. During the manufacturing of white jaggery sodium bisulphate is used. During this manufacturing of the jaggery sulphur oxide is evaporated and sodium salts are always present in the sodium salts.
