It indicates that human nature is a complicated issue. Not only one’s character, even one’s behavior may refute one’s true personality.
Additionally, decision building can be a very strenuous task at times. The complexity of the state may enforce us to make arrangements that may be totally against our belief or desire. It may be simply to keep up face or to convince somebody who doesn’t actually matter at all.
Just assume if you were one of the thousands who had assembled to observe the firing of the elephant, what would be your impression of the police officer?
At least in this scenario, one would never even think that the administrator was a kind-hearted gentleman who had actually yearned to return outwardly even interrupting the silent elephant.
