It is absolutely true that the whole universe is built up through love and the grief of separation is inescapable. However, we realize this truth only in tribulation and agony. Ali also realized this truth after he went through the pain of separation from his only daughter, Miriam.

Before the separation, Ali was a brutish man who ate opium, and hunted hares and partridges. His heart was insensitive to higher things of life such as love, care, appreciation of beauty of life, sorrow, etc. However, his daughter's sudden elopement left him forlorn and lonely. He was transformed. He gave up hunting; and now he would ponder over the higher aspects of life. He would often reflect on beauty of nature; he would feel the subtle love that was spread everywhere. He became sensitive to the love that existed between the partridge and its clutch.
