The widow remarriage association was founded in 1850 by Vishnu Shastri Pandit he was born in the year 1827 at Badhava at Satara District.

He was very active in Widow Marriage Movement.

And he launched this association for Widow women to get married again because at that time widows were not respected and they were treated as ill fate.
