the square of the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle equals the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides.That is

hypotenuse² = opposite² + Adjacent²

Let the length of the rectangle be x, so we have :

13²=x²+4²

which means that

x² = 13² - 4²=132−42

x² = 169 - 16

x² = 153

x = 12.369

x ≈ 12.4 feet ans.
