Let rectangle be ABCD, where AC is a diagonal. AB = CD = 5cm, AC = 13cm.

Condidering the right angle triangle ABC, right angled at B, AC is the hypotenuse.

According to Pythagoras Theorem,

AC^{2}=AB^{2} + BC^{2}

13^{2}=5^{2} + BC^{2}

169=25+BC^{2}

BC^{2}=169-25

BC^{2}=144

BC=12cm

Perimeter =2(l+b)

= 2(12+5)

=2(17)

.°. Perimeter=34cm
