The width of a rectangle is two third its length. If the perimeter is 180m, then find the dimensions of rectangle.​

Answer:

Let length be x m.

then Width = 2/3 *x = 2x/3 m

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length+ width)

2(x+2x/3) = 10x/3

Perimeter is already given in question so we will equate both the perimeters,

10x/3 = 180

or 10x = 180*3

or 10x = 540

so x = 540/10

x = 54m = length

width = 2x/3

putting value of x in this

2*54/3 = 36m

hence Length = 54m and Width = 36m
