Answer:

let length be x

so width is 2/3 x

2(x+2/3x)=180

5x/3=180/2

5x=90*3

x=90*3/5

x=270/5

x=54m

length is 54 m

breadth is 36 m

Given:-

  • The width of the rectangle is two-thirds it's length
  • The perimeter is 180m

To Find,

  • The dimensions of the rectangle

Solution,

Let the length of rectangle be x and the breadth of rectangle be 2/3x

ATQ:-

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l + b)

ㅤ⇢180 = 2(l + b)

ㅤ⇢180 = 2(x + 2/3x)

ㅤ⇢180 = 2(3x + 2x/3)

ㅤ⇢180 = 2(5x/3)

ㅤ⇢180 = 10x/3

ㅤ⇢10x = 180 × 3

ㅤ⇢x = 540/10

ㅤ⇢x = 54

Dimensions of the rectangle=

  • Length = x = 54m
  • Breadth = 2/3x = 2/3 × 54 = 36m

Verification:-

ㅤ⇢2(l + b) unit

ㅤ⇢2(54 + 36) m

ㅤ⇢2(90)m

ㅤ⇢180m

Hence Verified!
