The working of the Constituent Assembly gives sanctity to the constitution. Explain.

The Constituent Assembly of India was composed of the members who were chosen by indirect election by the members of the Provincial Legislative Assemblies, according to the scheme recommended by the Cabinet Mission.
It was representation of the people of Indian by its very nature. The total membership of the assembly was to be 389. However as a result of the partition, representatives of the some provinces ceased to be members of the assembly. As a result, the membership of the Constituent Assembly of India was reduced to 302. They delegated from its inception in 1946 till the draft of the Constitution of India was prepared on 26th November,1949. The Constituent Assembly was acting as the Parliament of India as it was involved in the law making for the entire nation.
The Constituent Assembly functioned in an open, consensual and systematic manner. The members of the Assembly laid great emphasis on discussions and reasoned arguments. The way the deliberation took place in the Constituent Assembly, it undoubtedly gave sanctity to our Constitution.
1. There was a general consensus on some basic principles to be adopted. It ensured that decisions were taken democratically.
2. The Drafting Committee headed by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar prepared a draft constitution. This draft was discussed, debated and deliberated.
3. Each clause of this draft constitution was scrutinized and discussed in detail with reason.
4. Every document presented, every word spoken was recorded and preserved. These debates which spread over three years provided a rational behind every provision of the constitution.
