well it's obvious from both the stories that it is always the common man who has to suffer the horrors and loss of war. the common man who has got nothing to do with the politics of war have to suffer, lose members of their family, and live with fear. in old man of the bridhe, the old man lost his animals in the war who were the only family he had and in Blenheim, it is clear that people of that time were blind to thr fact that how can such a terrible thing like war can bring joy to a country, a war that has caused the lives of so many innocent people
