The wrong house is called the wrong house because he had put the stolen money in Mr. Roger's house (Mr. Roger is the chief of police) and had told Mr Rogers that they had been sent by the chief of police which was in reality him. They had kept the money in Mr Roger's house, which was the wrong house.
