The failure of WTO in ensuring that the free and fair trade among the countries:

  • WTO is a world-level institution to promote fair trade practices among the countries. However, due to the dominance of developed countries like the USA it has failed to achieve its objectives.
  • WTO is bounded by the trade barriers and tariffs which can be imposed on any country in case of violation of trade rules. Thus, free and fair trade practices are not completely ensured by it.

This can be rectified by taking the following measures:

  • The promotion of practice of free and open trade by ensuring economic development
  • Providing equal platform for developing nations so that they gain trust and confidence in WTO
  • Streamlining the funding and management process of WTO.
