The x-coordinate (or abscissa) of the point A on the x-axis is -4 and the y-coordinate (or ordinate) of a point B on the y-axis is 5.Find the distance between A and B.

Any point lying on x-axis has y-coordinate 0

ii) lying on 4-axis with 4-coordinator5

Any point lying on 4-axis has

x-coordinate -0

•°• coordinator are (5,0)

iii) with ordinated -5 and abscissa 2

coordinator are (2,-5)

hence (i)(-4,0)

ii)(0,5)

iii) (2,-5)
