Given,
Y=2×10^10N/m²
Longitudinal strain(s)=0.04%
=4/100×1/100
=4×10^-4
we have,
Energy stored per unit volume=1/2×(strain)²×Y
=1/2×16×10^-8×2×10^10
=16×10²J/m³
