We know zero of a solution is that number which completely divides it.

So,
Here p(x) = 3x + 2

Now,
3x + 2 = 0
      3x = - 2
        x = - 2 / 3

Let's cross - check

3x + 2
3 (-2 / 3) + 2
- 2 + 2
0

So, the equation gets completely divided and we get,

- 2 / 3 as the zero
