Step-by-step explanation:

x²+2x-1

using quadratic formula = (-b) +-√b²-4ac/2a

here a = 1 b= 2 c= -1

putting the value we get

-(2)+-√2²-4×1×-1 /2(1)

-2+-√4+4/2

-2+-√8/2 or we can write it as -2+-2√2/2

taking + side we get

-2+2√2/2 or 2(-1+√2) /2 = -1+ √2

taking -ve side we get

-2-2√2/2

= -2(1+√2) /2 = 1+√2
