SOLUTION :

y = f ( x ) = x² - 3 = 0 [ GIVEN ]

 {x}^{2}  -  \sqrt{3}  = 0

by a² - b² = ( a - b ) ( a + b )

(x -  \sqrt{3} )( x +  \sqrt{3} ) = 0

x -  \sqrt{3} = 0  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  x  +   \sqrt{3}  = 0

 x =  \sqrt{3}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  -  \sqrt{ 3}
