Earth differs from all the other planets due to the presence of the atmosphere in its surface which makes life on this rocky planet possible.

Atmosphere acts as the blanket that covers all the gases and also prevents from harmful radiation which the sun emanates.

The whole earth’s atmosphere is 480 km thick and consists of five main layers.

Troposphere- Closest layer to the surface

Stratosphere – Above troposphere (Balloons and jet aircraft can reach here).

Mesosphere-  Coldest part ( Meteors present in this layer).

Thermosphere- Part of the surface having lower air density( Auroras, Space shuttles and satellites can reach up to here).

Exosphere- Hottest part ( Here, the atmosphere collide into outer space)
