The poem is 'Somebody's Mother' written by Mary Dow Brine ,it is not about one particular mother in general about every mother whose boy has left him for a work. The speaker is the poor and old woman who was trying to cross road, somebody's son, the young boy who came forward to help her when no one else helped. she asks God to be kind to the noble boy because he helped her to cross the road when no one bother to help her.she thought how much lucky the mother will be to have a son like him and one day his mother will be helped like this when his will be away because what we do to others that only we get back to us.

Answer:

Somebody's mother by Mary Dow Brine is a beautiful poem depicting wonderful values of care and love for others. An old woman wearing ragged clothes was standing at a crossing to go to the other side of the road; she was waiting for the traffic to stop so that she could safely go to the other side.
