"'The theme of Tiger King' by Kalki is that a person may rise or fall with pride. This is a satirical story which unfolds the life of a king from his birth to his death. The story describes how the fake self-pride of the kings, their whims and fancies, masks their eyes and they easily forget about people's welfare.

This is true even now, the only thing, politicians are in a place of the kings. The king who is a mad lover of tiger goes to the extent of marrying a girl who belongs to land with a lot of tigers, taxes people if tigers do not eat their goats, and simply goes to any extent for the fancy of a tiger.

The author also uses astrology to make the story interesting and also satirically tells about astrology which foretells that the king will be killed by the 100th tiger he hunts.

Self-pride only leads to downfall. True pride should come with real achievement and true values and not for fake whims and fancies."
