a + 11d - (a + 4d) = 29 - 1

Now, putting the value of d in equation 1 we get,

a + 4d = 1

a + 4(4) = 1

a = 1 - 4(4)

a = 1 - 16

a = -15

so a₄₇ = a +  46d

⇒ a₄₇ = -15 + 46(4)

⇒ a₄₇ = -15 + 184

⇒ a₄₇ = 169
