given: circle with center Of

AB is the chord

OP is perpendicular to chord AB

To Prove: segment AP = segment BP

Proof : in triangle OPA and triangle OPB

angle OPA =angle OPB......OP is perpendicular to chord AB

segment OP = segment OP......common side

hypotenuse OA = hypotenuse OB.....radius of same circle

therefore, triangle OPA = triangle OPB

segment AP = segment BP ......c s c t
