Pythagoras Theorem
Pythagoras Theorem states that the square of the hypotenuse (the side opposite to the right angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
In right-angled triangle ABC,
AC^2=AB^2+BC^2
When a perpendicular is drawn on the hypotenuse the triangle is divided into two parts, i.e., Triangle ADB and Triangle BDC.
Triangle ADB is similar to the Triangle BDC. Hence on the basis of similarity, corresponding angles are equal.
therefoe, AD=BD [isosceles triangle adb]
DC=BD
so ad = bd
