3. Prairies are practically tree-less. Where water is available, trees such as willows, alders and poplars grow. Places that receive rainfall of over 50 cm, are suitable for farming as the soil is fertile.

4. The fertile prairie areas are intensity cultivated. Farmers produce enough wheat for the country and also for exporting. This is why prairies is called the wheat basket of the world.

1. The Prairies are located in the heart of a continent. Therefore, the climate is of continental type with extreme temperatures. The summers are warm, with temperatures of around 20oC and winters are very cold with temperatures of around -20oC. In winters, a thick blanket of snow covers this region. It rains moderately in this region and is ideal for the growth of grass. Due to the absence of the north-south barrier, a local wind ‘Chinook’ blows here.

2. I dont know the answer of this question. so sorry mate.

5. Animals are reared on the western side of the prairies because that area consists of extensive grasslands on which animals can graze. That area is also not very suitable for farming as it is comparatively dry. prairies are grass parks in southern america. Animals are reared in the prairies in huge farms.
