There are 10 points in a plane, no three of which are in the same straight line, excepting 4 points, which are collinear. Find the the number of straight lines obtained from the pairs of these points.

As it is given 4 points are collinear out of 10 points. 
The no.of straight lines obtained from the 10 points = 10C2 - 4C2+1 = 45-6+1 = 40
