there are 100 students admitted to a class. some students can speak only hindi and some can speak only telugu. 12 students can speak both telugu and hindi,15 students can speak both hindi and english and 18 students can speak both english and telugu. if the number of students who can speak english is 30 and hindi is 40 and telugu is 30 and 5 students can speak all three languages, than how many students can speak only hindi?

As can be seen from the Venn diagram, the region which is common to all the languages has 5 in it. representing 5 students.

We know that the total number of Hindi speaker is 40. As can be seen, 5 of them speak the other two languages. 7 of them speak only Telugu too and 10 speak only English too.

Thus, the number of only Hindi speakers is: 40-(5+7+10)=18.

Therefore, the number of students who can speak only Hindi is 18.
