If the no. of girls are 40

Then, no. of boys = 100-40

= 60 boys

average % =( marks obtained/no of students) * 100
So , average% of boys = 75
Therefore , 75 = marks obtained by boys / 60 * 100
Marks obtained by boys = 4500/100
= 45
similarly, average% of girls = 65
Therefore..
65= (marks obtained by girls/no. of girls )*100
makes obtained by girls =
(65* 40)/100
=26
Therefore, total marks obtained= 26+45
=71
Therefore average marks of class in science=71/100
