There are 100 students in a class. The mean height of the class is 150 cm. If the mean height of 60 boys is 70 cm, find the mean height of the girls in the class.

Consider the no. of boys in class as 'x' and no. of girls as 'y'. Now we can easily form two equation based on the question.
X+Y =150; ( total no. of students)
70X + 55Y = 150*60 (total weight of all students)
From the first equation we can obtain,
X=150-Y;
Put this value of X in the second equation,
70(150-Y) + 55Y = 9000;
From the above equation find Y which can be used to find X.
