THERE ARE 100 STUDENTS IN A HOSTEL. THE FOOD PROVISION IS FOR 15 DAYS . HOW LONG WILL THERE PROVISION LAST IF 20 MORE JOIN THE GROUP ?

days. -15 ------x

let the food provision for 120 boys last for X days

100/15 = 120/x

x= 100×15

For 100 students the food lasts for 15days..

So it's clear that“more the number of students less the number of days”

Hence the given problem is in inverse proportion

So the condition for inverse proportion is x*y=x'*y'

Where x=100

Y=15

X'=120

Y'=no of days

So on substituting the values we get

100*15=120*y'

So we get y'=12.5 days...
