There are 100 students in class ix of a schoo. Mathematics teacherrasks all thestudents to prepare a cylindrical container of diameter 8.4 cm and height 11.2 cm, with the base but open at the top, using cardboard. The cost of the cardboard is Rs.10 per 100 cm square. find the amount spent by the teacher for the purchase.

surface area of 1 container=(2 x pi x r x h)+(pi x  r^{2} )

area of one cardboard reqd for making 1 cylinder.

A=(2×pi×r×h)+(pi×r×r)
r=d/2

total area=A×100

100 CM SQR > 10RS
1 CM SQR > 10/100 RS

TOTAL AREA COSTS> (10/100)×total area
