there are 1000 children in a school for a PT drill they have to stand in such a way that the number of rows is equal to the number of columns how many children would be left out in this arrangement

for equal no. of students in each row and column we need to find nearest perfect square to 1000
which is 961 square of 31
so, children left out will be 1000-961 = 39
