if the number of boys are x and number of girls are y ,

total number of pupils is ,

x + y = 1200

given number of girls are y = 650 ,

x + 650=1200

x = 1200-650

x = 550

Numbers boys are 550

Now the ratio of boys to girls are .

x/y = 550/650

x /y =550/ 650

x/y =11/13

The ratio of boys to the girls are = 11/13
