To Find :  which number line represents the percent of the students in the marching band who play the trumpet

Solution:

Total Students  in the marching band = 150

Students  play the trumpet   = 30

percent of the students in the marching band who play the trumpet  

=  (Students  play the trumpet / Total Students  in the marching band ) * 100

= (30/ 150) * 100

= (1/5) * 100

= 20 %  

20 %of the students in the marching band   play the trumpet

on number line from 0 to 100 , 20 will display  

in number line 0 to 1  , 0.2 will represent the same
