Donuts = 18

Bagels = 24

Muffins = 20

Find the Prime factors:

18 = 2 x 3²

24 = 2³ x 3

20 = 2² x 5

Find the HCF:

HCF = 2

Answer (a) : The pasties can be packed into 2 equal boxes.

* Assuming that there must be more than 1 box

Donuts = 18 ÷ 2 = 9

Bagels = 24 ÷ 2 = 12

Muffins = 20 ÷ 2 = 10

Answer (b): There are 9 donuts, 20 bagels and 10 muffins in each box.
