There are 181 latitudes but longitudes are360 only, why?

For crossing the whole globe from west to east you need to travel across all the longitudes to complete a circle of 3600 but in case of latitude farthest you can travel is from one pole to another, you need to cover the half portion of the earth i.e. 1800 because we've already divided the Earth in half (Equator).
