There are 2 containers – a cuboidal shaped and other cylindrical shaped. Dimensions of cuboidal container are 5 m X 4 m X 3 m, whereas radius of the base of cylindrical container is 1 m and its height is 7 m. Which container can hold more liquid and by how much? Express the difference in litres.​

I) Cuboid,

Length = 5m

Breadth = 4m

Height = 3m

We know that,

Volume of Cuboid = l*b*h

= 5*4*3

= 60m³

II) Cylinder,

Radius = 1m

Height = 7m

We know that,

Volume of Cylinder = pir2h

= 22*1*1*7

= 22m³

Since, volume of cuboid is greater than the volume of cylinder, by = V of Cuboid - V of Cylinder

= 60 - 22

= 38m³
