There are 20 animals on the farm
some of the animals are goats and the rest are chickens
the total no of legs of the 20 animals is 64
how many chickens are there on the farm??

No of chickens = 8

Total no of animal's = 20

total no of legs of 20 animals = 60

one goat has 4 legs so 12 goats have = 12×4 = 48 legs

now, one chicken has 2 legs so

8 chicken will have = 8×2= 16

12 goats + 8 chickens= 48 legs + 16 legs

= 64 legs

Farmer Have 18 goats and 2 chickens ..

Let X be number of goats and y be number of chickens

Eq.1.. X*4 (goats have 4 legs)+y*2 (chickens have 2 legs)

Eq2... X+y= 20

comparing both equations we have ,

3x+y=56

from here y=56-3x

putting it in eq 2 we get X=18

Then y=20-x

y=2

Your question is wrong legs are 56 not 54....!

Thus goats are 18 and chickens are 2.....!
