so the total number of children's are 'x'

so the number of boys would be

x-6

so now the equation would be :-

\frac{80x}{100} = x-6

since the number of girls are 20% so the number 80%

80x = 100(x-6)

80x = 100x - 600

600 = 100x-80x

600 = 20x

x = \frac{600}{20}

x = 30

so total number of girls

= 6 (given)

and the number of boys would be

= x-6 (proved above)

= 30-6 = 24
