Narendra and akhilendra will met at 14 th step from bottom

Solution:

Let narendra and akhilendra meet at "x" th step

There are 20 steps in a temple

In the same time narendra goes up two steps, akhilendra comes down 1 step

They start simultaneously and keep their speeds uniform

Therefore,

Narendra = 1 step up

Akhilendra = 1 step down

(1 \times x + 2 \times x) - 1 = 20\\\\x + 2x - 1 = 20\\\\3x = 20 + 1\\\\3x = 21\\\\x = 7

At which step from the bottom will they meet

Step = 20 steps - 7 + 1

Step = 20 - 7 + 1 = 20 - 6 = 14

Thus, they will met at 14 th step from bottom
