Given :-

Total students in a class :- 200

Percent of children playing :- 20%

Percent of children eating :- 30%

To Find :-

Number of children reading in class.............

Solution :-

First, we should find the number of children playing and eating food in numerical format...........

Number of children playing :-

{ \tt \longrightarrow 20 \bf\% \sf \:  \: of \tt \:  \: 200}

{ \tt \longrightarrow  \dfrac{20}{100}  \times 200}

{ \tt \longrightarrow  \dfrac{20}{ \cancel{100}}  \times  \cancel{200} =  \boxed{ \tt 20 \times 2}}

 \tt \longrightarrow 40 \sf  \:  \: children

Number of children eating food :-

 { \longrightarrow  \tt 30 \bf\% \:  \sf \: of \tt \:  \: 200}

{ \tt \longrightarrow  \dfrac{30}{100}  \times 200}

{ \tt \longrightarrow  \dfrac{30}{ \cancel{100}}  \times  \cancel{200} =  \boxed{ \tt 30 \times 2}}

 \tt \longrightarrow 60 \sf  \:  \: children

Now, we know that

Total children :- 200

Number of children playing :- 40

Number of children eating food :- 60

So,

Number of children reading :-

{ \tt \longrightarrow 200 - (40 + 60)}

 \tt \longrightarrow 200 - 100

 \tt \longrightarrow 100  \sf \:  \: children

\Huge\therefore100 children are reading in the class.

  • Total students = 200

  • 30% of students are eating food.

  • 20% of students are playing.

  • Number of students reading.

 \\  \\ \large  \sf\underline{ \underline{ \red{solution : }}} \\  \\

➻ First we will find percentage of number of students reading.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

➣ 20% playing.

➣ 30% eating.

Remaining students are reading.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤ

➟ So, % of students reading = 100-(20+30)

= 50%

 \\  \therefore \:  \sf{50\% \: of \: students \: are \: reading.}

ㅤㅤㅤ

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

➻ Now , we will find 50% of 200.

 \\  \implies \tt{ \frac{50}{ \cancel{100}} \times { \cancel{200}} \: ^{2} } \\  \\  \implies  \tt{100 \: students}

Hence , 100 students are reading.
